Sphynx cattery Purr Spirit

Please be careful!

Please be careful if you are planning to buy or sell a cat in Russia. I had a very bad  experience recently:

In late October of last year, I sold a kitten to Oksana Konteyeva, Purr Spirit cattery from the city of Samara, Russia.

I showed this kitty at the cat show in Moscow 14-15 October, 2006.

October 17 Oksana Konteeva came to my home, we signed the contract and she left with the kitten.

One and a half month later, Oksana came to a cat show in Moscow with this cat, and the girl won the best kitten award - I saw her and the kitty looked good.

Next time I saw this cat was on the pictures from the show in Chelyabinsk, four and half months after she was adopted by Oksana, and I started to worry - the cat looked very skinny. I asked for the explanation and was told that the cat had diarrhea but now she is ok.

  •  Two weeks later, I visited the major cat show in Moscow and saw the cat again - she was showing in the THREE different systems.  I WAS SHOCKED: the cat was so skinny that her whole bone structure was visible thru the skin!!

  •

I demanded that Oksana return the cat to me immediately, she refused, and only after I asked for help from the show organizers and the vet on duty at the show, she finally gave me back my poor girl. I bought the cat cage and took her straight from the show to the vet clinic and the lab for analysis. The same evening, I received first lab test result showing that the cat had FeLV. I called Oksana right away to tell her the bad news. But the next morning, she returned to the same show with the two kittens from her cattery that were in direct contact with the sick kitty, offering them for SALE!! Same day, I placed the cat into the clinic for emergency treatment where she received drop infusion of medicine twice a day, plus lots of additional drugs via multiple injections.

Three days later, I received additional lab test results, indicating that the cat also had Rhinotracheitis. Additionally, the vet found that the cat had an untreated case of Dysbacteriosis and diarrhea resulted in extreme weight loss.

My kitty was 11 days in the clinic, feels a little better, the intensive care was temporarily stopped and only the basic treatment continues.

I have only three adult cats in my home - the parents of this girl and another female. I regularly get them tested for all known cat viruses because I consider their health my top priority, and they all tested negatively.

I wish health and happiness to your cats and you!!

    Kind regards,

    Violetta Belyanskaya
